Great advice! And if you're looking at upgrading a machine from Windows 10 to 11, consider doing a clean install.

It's great opportunity to confirm your backups work, reduce bloat/performance issues, reduce attack surface, reduce cost, and maybe even reduce the amount of time you have to spend care-taking your tech.

About a week ago, I reset my iPhone to factory settings so I could privately install a Tangem wallet. Since I hadn’t used my passcode in a while, I forgot it and had to completely reset the device using my iMac. Unfortunately, I couldn’t recover any of my apps or iCloud data at the time, which really upset me for a few days.

Since my phone was synced with my iPad, I’ll likely restore everything to the iPad only—and leave my phone as a fresh start.
