I’ve tried in vain to get my friends and close associates to switch! Thanks for the tips!

There are problems with Signal though. I can't use it on my desktop computer (I'm trying to use my phone less often) and if someone sends me photos after a day out, it's almost impossible to download them. Is this part of its security? It's frustrating.

Signal is available for the desktop though. What Operating system are you using?

My desktop browser is Firefox. Last time I tried it didn't work... ah, I'm trying it now, and it doesn't work with my version of MacOS, which is the most up-to-date version my old but reliable Mac will use.

Hmm Signal is available on desktop. And to download photos, just click the 3 dots in the preview in your thread, and select "download all". Let me know if you have further issues!

When I click the 3 dots I get Edit, Save or Delete. When I click Save I get a pop-up saying "Save to storage?" If I click "yes" I get another pop-up saying "media saved" but I've no idea where it's saved. It's not in Gallery or Downloads... The only way I can save photos is to share them with a different app, individually, and then download them one by one.

Ah... I've found them in "Albums" in Gallery. Yay!

Be concerned about the back door access to user data by U.S. Intelligence..The Signal Project was a State Department-connected initiative..Signal's technology received part of its initial funding from the Open Technology Fund (OTF), sponsored by the Government. "OTF funded Signal to provide 'encrypted mobile communication tools' to 'Internet freedom defenders globally. Signal foundation president Katherine Maher became a campaigner against 'disinformation' and admitted to coordinating online censorship 'through conversations with the government.' Maher openly endorsed removing alleged 'fascists from digital platforms, and described the First Amendment as 'the number one challenge' to eliminating 'bad information'.

I'm not a fan of Maher, she's an inappropriate choice for the board. A lot of the criticism of Signal originated from Pavel himself though and is false, be careful of that too. We addressed some of it in a previous newsletter https://nbtv.substack.com/p/telegram-isnt-as-private-as-you-think

My sources are not from Pavel Durov but from two separate American investigative reports.
